Are butterfly knives illegal in your own home in New York State? As in a collection?

I know butterfly knives are illegal in New York State, but I heard they are legal if it's in a collection in your own house and not in public. Is this true?|||That "knife" is only good for show offs. A Spiderco knife opens 20 times faster and no spring.
